Hello and welcome back Rosalie,
author of paranormal romance. We’re here today interviewing about her Demons of
Infernum series ~ the stories and stars of the first four books, Blood
of the Demon, Mark of the Sylph, Touch
of the Angel, and Heart of the Incubus.
Here’s
a little about Rosalie for those who’d like to know her better:
Rosalie Lario practiced real estate law for several
years before finally admitting to herself that negotiating contracts wasn’t
nearly as fun as dreaming up stories. As an avid reader of romances and supernatural
stories, she knew she wanted to write paranormal romance.
When not writing, she enjoys spending time with her
husband and son in their home state of Florida, as well as searching out things
that go bump in the night. She still hasn’t found any proof of the
supernatural, but she's keeping her fingers crossed.
We’ve
got a lot to chat about Rosalie, so let’s get started…
KDR
~
First off, tell us how the idea for this series came to you/originated. Did it
come book by book or all at once?
RL ~ It all started with a
dream of a sexy, half-demon hero (Keegan, the hero of Blood of the Demon). The story went through several incarnations
before I realized that Keegan had a family. Once Taeg, Ronin, and Dagan were
born, the world built itself around them fairly quickly.
KDR
~
Book One, Blood of the Demon, tells us about Keegan. Who/what is he and
what motivates him?
RL ~ Keegan is a half-demon
and an interdimensional bounty hunter. More than anything, he wants revenge on
the evil demon who fathered and abused him and his half-brothers. When the
Elden Council (the political council that governs travel between the
dimensions) labels his father, Mammon, as a fugitive, he jumps at the chance to
nab him.
KDR
~
Tell us about Brynn Meyers, art gallery owner. Who is she to Keegan?
RL ~ Brynn is the key to
Mammon’s plan to take over Earth. Unbeknownst to her, she alone has the ability
to cast an ancient spell to resurrect the dead. He wants to use her to create
an army of zombies under his rule, making him unstoppable. Keegan has been
ordered to keep Brynn from Mammon’s clutches by any means necessary...even if
it means her death. He never expects her to be so utterly entrancing that he
can’t resist her.
KDR
~
Oh, man, does this sound like some kind of tension for Keegan…tough choices
*smile*
Can you share Brynn’s abilities?
RL ~ Brynn has
psychometric abilities—she can read the memories off objects that she touches.
She also has the ability to drain others of their life force with a simple
touch.
KDR
~
Wow, Brynn has some awesome abilities.
Give us some insight on
Keegan’s father (that big bad a**)…and what is it about him that has Keegan all
wired up?
RL ~ Mammon is, in a word,
evil (and in my world, not all demons are). He’s a crazed scientist who has
practiced crossbreeding of the species (using himself as the stud for the
unwilling women) in order to create genetically superior beings. He expected
that his sons would blindly obey him, and beat and tortured them whenever they
didn’t. They were finally able to escape, but they carry the mental scars of
their father’s abuse.
KDR ~ On to Book Two, Mark
of the Sylph. What is a Sylph?
RL ~ A sylph is a type of
fae, an elemental associated with air. In my world, air sylphs have several
abilities: they can flash, i.e. instantaneously travel from one spot on a
dimension to another; hypnotize with their eyes; and dissipate into air form.
KDR
~
Oh, wow, more cool abilities.
Half-demon Taeg has his work
cut out for him in this book. Can you give us a little about him and what keeps
him going forward?
RL ~ Taeg is a carefree
guy, and a total smartass on top of that (yes, I had Dean Winchester of Supernatural on the brain when I thought
him up). But if there’s one thing he holds dear, it’s family. In this book, he’s
on the lookout for a weapon that is rumored to be able to destroy any object;
it’s the sword of Merlin. The problem is that it’s hidden by a powerful
glamour. Then he meets Maya...and discovers she can see through glamours.
Suddenly the sword is within his grasp. All he has to do is convince Maya to
help him.
KDR
~
I like that glamour idea, Rosalie.
Tell us about Librarian Maya
Flores…and who is she to Taeg? What motivates her?
RL ~ Maya is a rare human
who can see through glamours. When she was a child she witnessed her family
being murdered by demons, and she’s been on a one-woman mission to destroy all
demons ever since. Ultimately, her goal is to find the demons who killed her
family...and annihilate them.
KDR ~ Why does Maya hate
Taeg?
RL ~ it’s not personal. Since
he’s a demon, she believes he must be evil. Taeg’s got his work cut out for him
convincing her otherwise. *grin*
KDR
~
Sounds like an interesting dilemma for Taeg.
Book Three, Touch
of the Angel. Explain what an incubus and a succubus are?
RL ~ Incubi and succubi
are demons who derive their sustenance from sex. In my Demons of Infernum
world, sex demons secrete a toxin during sex that is poisonous to everyone but
other sex demons.
KDR ~ Something like too hot
to handle. LOL
Interdimensional Bounty Hunter
Ronin Meyers ~ what’s his big motivation in the story?
RL ~ Ronin is feeling a
little lost and lonely now that his two older brothers have found love. He’s
not looking for love himself—at least he doesn’t think so. He’s suffered loss in
his past, and the last thing he wants is another person he could also lose. But
then he meets Amara...
KDR
~
So, who’s Amara (nice name, btw) and what does she have to do with Ronin?
RL ~ Amara is a succubus
who has been enslaved by an evil incubus and forced to do his bidding. When she
meets Ronin she finds him totally irresistible. He’s too good for her, but she
can’t help herself. Ronin barely survives their explosive first encounter...but
that’s just the beginning of their story. J
KDR ~ Book Four, Heart
of the Incubus. Tells us about Cresso Taylor.
RL ~ Cresso is an incubus
and a biochemist who is a friend of Keegan, Taeg, Ronin, and Dagan. To his
amazement, he finds himself falling in love for the first time, but the sexy
scientist he’s fallen for wants nothing to do with him.
KDR
~
Who is Genevieve Russell and what does she have to do with Cresso?
RL ~ Gen is the object of
Cresso’s desire, but she’s been burnt by a playboy before. The last thing she
needs is to fall for another bad boy like Cresso. But when he discovers she is
being stalked by someone leaving her macabre gifts, he insists on helping her
uncover the stalker...and she discovers there’s far more to the irresistible
incubus than she ever imagined.
KDR
~
Do you have anything else you’d like to add about any or all of the Demons of
Infernum series?
RL ~ If you like
fast-paced paranormal action and super sexy romance centered around a loyal
family base, then check out my half-demon interdimensional bounty hunters!
KDR
~
Well, you’ve intrigued me enough to buy Bookr one and get started on this
series. *smile*
Please tell us what you’re
currently working on.
RL ~ I’m hard at work on Call of the Siren, the fifth book in the
series featuring youngest brother Dagan. He and Lina (Ronin’s adopted sister) face
an uphill battle on their way to finding happiness. In this story, the existence
of the entire Council—along with their own—hangs in the balance.
KDR ~ Please list your sites
& links. How can we find you?

DEMONS OF INFERNUM - Book One by Rosalie Lario
Keegan lives to exact
revenge on the evil demon who sired and abused him. When his father devises a
plan to bring on the apocalypse, he and his three half-brothers,
interdimensional bounty hunters for the Elden Council, are charged with
capturing and delivering their father for punishment.
Art gallery owner Brynn
Meyers has no idea that her ability to read memories embedded in objects and
drain people of their life force means she has demon ancestry. Unfortunately
for Brynn, she’s also the key to raising an ancient zombie army, which puts her
on every demon’s Most Wanted List.
And no one wants her more
than Keegan’s father.
Keegan must protect Brynn
from his father by any means necessary, but he’ll have to learn to harness the
other half of his genetics—the far deadlier, uncontrollable half—when he starts
to fall for the one woman standing between him and the vengeance he so
desperately seeks. The one woman he’ll never be able to resist.

DEMONS OF INFERNUM - Book Two - Rosalie Lario
Half-demon Taeg is
desperate to free his pregnant sister-in-law, who is spellbound to an
indestructible book that will create an army of the undead. He is convinced
that an ancient sword can destroy the book and the spell forever, but this
relic has been hidden for a millennia by a powerful glamour. The clock begins to
run out on his search when an old rival goes after the book and Taeg’s family
in his quest for revenge.
Librarian Maya Flores has
a secret: she’s immune to magic and is well aware of the supernatural beings
prowling the streets of New York City. Haunted by a brutal demon attack that
took her family, she is on a one-woman mission to destroy the evil demons who
did it—and any others who get in her way.
Maya is Taeg’s best hope
for uncovering the sword. Unfortunately, she wants nothing more than to kill
him. As he fights for her trust and to save his family, she is forced to face
the truth that not all demons are evil. And the worst part? She might be
falling in love with one, too.

Demons of Infernum - Book Three - Rosalie Lario
After months of no work,
interdimensional bounty hunter Ronin Meyers jumps at the chance to locate an
incubus who’s using succubi as murder weapons. Faced with deportation to
hellish Infernum if he fails, Ronin will stop at nothing to take out the
incubus and anyone else involved. Even the beautiful succubus who stole his
heart—and nearly his life—during the most mind-blowing hour of his existence.
Night after night, Amara
and her fellow succubi are forced to extract special abilities from the
strongest Otherworlders for their psychotic master’s growing collection. When
the gorgeous angel-demon hybrid she believed to be dead captures her, Amara is
both stunned and elated.
But the happily ever
after Amara’s dreamed about will have to wait. Before she and Ronin can find
salvation, they must bring down the madman hellbent on destroying
everything—and everyone—they love. And Ronin and Amara are at the top of his
list…
“Rosalie Lario opens a portal to the
Otherworld and you'll have very little chance of escaping. Of course, you won't
want to. Sexy heroes and kick-butt heroines will light up your pages with an
action-packed story mixed with danger and a heartfelt romance.”~ ParanormalRomance.org

Demons of Infernum - Book Four - Rosalie Lario
Biochemist Cresso Taylor
lives the sort of lifestyle most men would envy—he has wealth, natural incubus
charm, and more women than he can handle. But it’s not enough anymore. Not
after meeting Genevieve Russell, the sexy scientist who works with him at
Elcorp Laboratory. And she wants absolutely nothing to do with him.
After her fiancé broke
her heart, Genevieve has had enough of womanizers. She’s determined to steer
clear of sexy-as-sin Dr. Taylor, despite the fact that his incubus allure makes
her want to rip his clothes off. But when a secret admirer’s affection turns to
the macabre with threatening notes and grisly gifts, Cresso appoints himself
her protector. As she and Cresso hunt her stalker, she discovers there’s a lot
more to the sensual incubus than she ever imagined.
“Rosalie Lario has done it again, Heart of an Incubus is addictive,
non-stop action, filled with steamy scenes and has you glued to the pages from
page one!!” ~ Amber
at Awesomesauce Book Club
“Each installment to the series seems to get better and better as well
as spicier and spicier. Ms. Lario really turns up the heat in this one and I
can always count on an exciting love/danger mix in her work. Its stories like
these that keep me reading and loving paranormal romance.”~Night

Good Morning Rosalie and welcome back! I'm looking forward to reading your series...starting with Blood of the Demon.
Your story-stars sound exciting, humky heroes and hot unique heroines...yummy combo.
I'm off to brew up some tea and coffee - whichever, I'd be more than happy to share. So come on in and settle anywhere...the seats around here are pretty comfortable.
Rosalie, Your books sound AWESOME. You're a new author to me and I admit I haven't read much demon paranormal, but WOW you've got me hooked. I'm going to go find your books now and download one.
Thanks for the blog. It is very interesting.

Kay Dee, thanks a mil for having me here!
Cynthia, I got hooked on demon paranormal a few years ago, and I can't get enough of it! I especially like the books that turn the whole 'evil' trope on its head, and there are some really good ones out there. :-)
Hi Rosalie - great interview. I have a really hard time answering the question. The more I read the more I fall for EVERY SINGLE type of paranorm ;). My first love was the vamp and then Larissa Ione got me into loving demons, then along came dragons et al. I'm a mess - can't pick.

Hi Rosalie,
I LOVE the blurbs for your Demons of Infernum series. Now I've gotta get your books to add to my Read-it pile.
My favorite types of paranormal romance are Vamps, Weres (of all kinds) and Demons/Angels.
Mindy :)
Birdsooong@aol.com
Rosalie, I can relate to Victoria as far as falling for every type of paranormal. I'd like to say I have a soft spot for werewolves, because I write about them...but honestly, I love demons, vampire, any kind of shifter, witches, ghosts, all of them (with my least favorite being Zombies...I still can't wrap my brain around this one). LOL
As long as the hero and heroine are strong in their convictions, are believable, and have a great connection to each other...it all blends to sustain me to the end, every time.
So, Rosalie...how do you keep track of your characters in the series...do you keep running notes on each of your main story-stars?
If you had asked me about 5 years ago, I would have only one answer...vampires.
I have broadened my reading genre and now I fancy demons, bird shape shifters, and faeries. Go figure...
Thanks,
Tracey D

My favorite type of paranormal romance is one that includes all para-races (?). I find those fascinating to read and see how the characters interact and get along or not get along. I love the Demons of Infernum series...I have the first 3...and NEED Heart of an Incubus! Please, Please, Please! :)
barbbattaglia@yahoo.com
Awesome interview! Love getting to know a little bit about each of the books, and I always love knowing where the inspiration came from =)
DEAN!
I have to see where I am with this series. I'm not sure if book 1 is on my Kindle, or just in my "to buy" list!
Hey Barbara...I can totally relate to you're idea of a book full of paranormals...all kinds. Love it.
Hi Tracey *waves*
Hello Rachel and Natalie!
Thanks for stopping by Cynthia and Mindy!!
Rosalie - we have some demon lovers here for ya, girl.
I don't think there is anything about PNR that I don't like. I started with vampires, them moved to shifters, demons, angels, etc. Every since I read Larissa Ione's books, I really love demons.

Hi Rosalie
Almost all the books I read are Paranormal Romance or Urban Fantasy and I like mostly vampires.
Demons I like too, but only when they're like the demons in your series.
Thanks for this giveaway!
Daniela.

Hello Rosalie,
I really enjoyed your Interview & it was just GREAT that you shared with Us a description of all 4 of your Demons of Infernum Series, they sound Very Exciting & Really Good Reads. I LOVED your Cover Art for your 4 Books, so Sensually Mysterious, Very Hot!
I would appreciate if I could be considered for your give away of an ecopy of "Heart of the Incubus" if I answer the question: What’s my favorite type of paranormal romance?
I LOVE to Read! I of course enjoy Erotic Paranormal (i suppose you could never have guessed that from my name lol) especially when they have Vampires, Werewolves, Shape-Shifters, Demons, Incubus, Dragons, Elves, Faeries, and/or Mermen in them. LOL I LOVE Paranormal Romance! LOL
Take care & Have a Great Week,
PaParanormalFan (Renee’ S.)
paranormalromancefan@yahoo.com
Victoria, yeah, I know what you mean, lol.
Mindy, Tracey D and June, I'm with you. They're all so good!
Kay Dee, I agree with the zombie thing. My stories have zombies in them, but they are mindless creatures of destruction. As to your question, I do have a series 'bible' in which I keep notes on each of my characters. But as I spend more time with the brothers, I find each to have his own distinct personality. Now I'm at the point where I couldn't mistake one for the other.
Barbara, all right!! Glad you're enjoying the series. :-)
Rachel, thank you. :-)
Natalie, in my mind, Taeg IS Dean...my all time favorite TV character. Sigh...
Daniela, every time I find myself thinking I'm starting to get over vampires, I pick up another great vamp book and fall in love with them all over again!
Renee, thank you! I'm dying to write a story with a merman in it! Some day, lol.
All right ladies & gents it's well after noon and the name has been drawn!
Lucky winner for an e-copy of Rosalie's book, Heart of the Incubus is...
June M!! Congratulations!!
Rosalie will be contacting you with your prize soon.
Thank you everyone for stopping in and visiting with Rosalie.
