Tina Donahue ~ Romance Author Extraordinaire

Tina Donahue is a multi-published novelist in contemporary and historical romance. She was the editor of an award-winning Midwestern newspaper, worked in Story Direction for a Hollywood production company, served as public relations director for a California literary agency, and is currently the Managing Editor for a global business document concern.

She has also modeled professionally, appearing on billboards throughout the nation.

I could picture those billboards with you modeling as Marilyn Monroe…am I right? *smile* You have that blonde bombshell look about you, Tina.

I’ve invited Tina here to talk about Sinfully Wicked, her newest contemporary ménage erotica romance. I’ve got plenty of questions, Tina…maybe we should get started…

Please tell us how the idea came to you for Sinfully Wicked. Please include all the fun details.

I’d just finished writing my first ménage, SiNN, when I started to think about doing another ménage, only this time the guys would be brothers…fraternal twins to be exact. I then started to think—what if they both fell in love with the same girl as teens? What if something pulled them apart? A betrayal? With that, the conflict started falling into place. However, I then started to think—okay,  she betrayed them way back when, but now she’s back fifteen years later—why? The answer I came up with increased the conflict even more. And with that Sinfully Wicked was born. J

What drives Mitch and Connor, motivates, and/or inspires them?

These guys had a tough life, especially during their teen years. However, they never let it defeat them. Together, they achieved astounding wealth, everything they’d ever dreamed of with their wildly popular gentleman’s club Wicked. And yet, they still hadn’t found a love as deep and moving as they’d once had with Nikki. At least, until she’s back in their lives. J

What’s Nikki’s job? What does she do for a living?

She was an attorney working in the New York banking world. However, her now ex-husband’s fraud (ala Bernard Madoff) dragged her down too, even though she was innocent of everything. She didn’t even know her ex-husband was a crook. As the novel opens, she’s desperate for a job to save her parent’s house because they also invested with her ex-husband and lost everything. She’s unemployable as an attorney (because of her ex’s fraud) so she asks Mitch and Connor if she can work at their gentleman’s club, knowing it pays very well. However, to do so she has to be willing to work bottomless, topless, or both.

Wow, Nikki gets some pretty crack-shot rules to get a job, sounds totally wild and compelling. *grins*

Give us some insight into Nikki. What’s a bit of her back story?

Nikki was a transplant to Atlanta (where the novel takes place) from the Midwest. She was never the popular girl in school…always the outsider. The summer before school began she met Mitch and Connor who were also outcasts. They all fell hard and fast—the way only kids can. However, when school started everything went south fast thanks to the popular, bullying kids.  As the novel opens, it’s been fifteen years since they’ve all seen each other. But they haven’t forgotten…the love they had for each other is as strong now as it was then. Although Nikki’s long ago betrayal is something Mitch can forgive and forget. Connor’s not yet at that point.

Why this location? Anything in particular in real-life that made you select it?

The action in Sinfully Wicked takes place in Atlanta and Sea Island, Georgia. I’ve been there many times. I just love the South, it’s so beautiful. I wanted a sultry weekend between the brothers and Nikki and I started thinking of how gorgeous Sea Island is. That more or less settled the locale for me.

Which scene was your favorite to write? Can you share a little of it?

I have several, and one of them is when Nikki is working in Wicked, Mitch and Connor’s gentleman’s club. It’s her first night there and Mitch/Connor are watching her on the monitors in the manager’s office. Things get very lusty very quick with one of the patrons. What Mitch does at that point is so damn cool, so Alpha it took my breath away. I can’t give away more than that, it would ruin it. Trust me, that scene is scorching hot.

Well, you’ve got my attention speaking of hot scenes. LOL

What are you working on now?

I just finished an erotic paranormal – the first of a series. Until I hear from my editor about it, that’s about all I can say. Sorry.

In the next few weeks, I’ll be starting another erotic contemporary – just as hot as Sinfully Wicked. J
