Meet Brenda Woody and Steve Tindle ~ an Amazing Author Duo

Hello everyone, please come on in and get ready for a real treat ~ erotica and erotic romance authors, Brenda Woody & Steve Tindle, are spending the next few days here:) Besides an interview and giveaway, they are sharing their newest erotic paranormal romance mystery, Rainie’s Lake. Before I get started with questions for them, here’s a bit about them…

Brenda Woody & Steve Tindle is a couple writing Erotica and Erotic Romance. Their stories give readers the perspective of both male and female point of view. Not all of their stories have a happy ever after ending, but the sex scenes are hot! Brenda & Steve love to explore different writing styles in the Erotic genre. With dark fantasies, ménage relationships, deep sexual desires and a bit of paranormal, they write erotic that is passionate and spellbinding.

Okay, Brenda and Steve, are you ready to answer some questions? Here we go…

Please tell us how the idea came to you for Rainie’s Lake.

We met P.Q. Glisson, Romance & YA Author, online in a scheduled chat with authors and readers early 2011. Come to find out P.Q. (Phyllis) is married to a high school friend of ours. Small world, eh. After a few months, we were chatting online one night and she mentioned she had some ideas for a few erotic stories, but she would never do anything with them. So she passed them on to us. One of the ideas was about a lake, a woman and a mystery in the woman’s life.

We wrote down some notes; ideas of our own and possible characters. Within a day of brainstorming, Rainie’s Lake was born.

Love when a story has a story of its own, like yours does.

What drives, motivates, and/or inspires Dylan Bishop?

Dylan is an Art Instructor at a small college. He’s lost the inspiration to paint but loves his job instructing the art students. He decides to take a long over due vacation and rents a cabin on a lake. His inspiration comes back when he meets Rainie near the private dock.

Give us some insight into Rainie Marks. What’s a bit of her back story?

Rainie grew up in the next town near the lake. She went away to college and then returned, landing a job as an elementary teacher. As a child, her family stayed at the same cabin, Dylan has rented, a few times a year. Rainie has fond and sad memories of the lake. Something bad happened in her past. The lake is the key to the plot.

Who is Dylan to Rainie? Can you give us a bit about the first time they meet each other?

Dylan will be the first person to believe Rainie’s story and he helps her unveil a mystery.

The morning after Dylan arrives at the cabin, he hopes to enjoy some fishing, but a thick fog settled on the lake. Instead he enjoys a cup of coffee on the back deck. He notices a slim figure standing by the shore not too far from the dock. Curious and glad to perhaps have someone to chat with, he walks down to see who it is. When he gets closer, he can see it’s a woman; the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen in his life.

Lovely first meeting:) Why this location? Anything in particular in real-life that made you select it?

Brenda: Growing up, my family and I spent many summer weekends at Clark Hills, a huge lake in GA. When all of us kids were grown and left the house, my parents moved permanently to the lake.

Steve and I live beside a lake. So it was natural we’d keep this idea for the story.

Is Rainie’s Lake included in a series?

Not at first. But several fans have mentioned they wanted more of the story when they reached the end. So we’re bringing Dylan and Rainie back as well as another main character in Rainie’s Gift.

What are you working on now?

We’re currently writing on Triangle of Secrets, Book Two featuring Morgan, Vivian and Kirk. For those of you that read Book One, you've met Morgan and Kirk is Scott's dad. Vivian is an old flame of Kirk's. Ummm, makes for an interesting triangle wouldn't you say?

Scarlett's Cowboy will be released later this year. We've had this book on the burner long enough. On our blog, you can read an excerpt under Works in Progress.

Savannah’s Dream, is an erotic paranormal we’re itching to start.

Newlyweds Jaque and Trevor move to Savannah after they find the perfect colonial house to live and open their Bed & Breakfast. But after they move in strange things start happening. Trevor is haunted with torrid dreams. Jaque is trying her best to ignore all the paranormal activity.

When they hire a medium, they meet Savannah; a young girl haunting the house. Is Savannah a welcomed spirit or will it become dangerous to keep her around?

Where can we find you?

Rainie's Lake

Excerpt:

Dylan wakes up with the sheets tangled around his legs. Both pillows are tossed about the bed and the comforter is on the floor.

Rainie is gone.

Grabbing the sheets away, he sits on the edge, running his fingers through his hair. When did she leave? I must have slept hard to not hear her get up. Putting on his jeans, he quickly heads to the kitchen to look out the window, frantically searching the shoreline. Relieved, he sees her by the dock. Opening the back door, he shivers as the cold air hits his chest; ignoring it, he calls out to her.

“Rainie, it’s freezing out here. Come on up.”

She turns around and walks toward the deck. “You’re going to freeze to death if you don’t put more clothes on.”

“I’ll put more on if you come in for coffee.” He opens the door wider. As Rainie brushes past him, he inhales the lavender scent from her hair, reminding him of last night. “Well, we can take off our clothes once I build a fire and repeat last night.”

“Last night?”

“Yes, and I forgot to thank you for such a pleasurable night.” Shutting the door, Dylan reaches for her coat. “I’ll get the fire started and make coffee right quick.”

Rainie stares into the flames as he hands her a cup and places his on the coffee table. “I’ll go put on a shirt. It’ll be a while before the room warms up.” Noticing the distant look in her eyes, he takes her hand. “Are you all right?”

Smiling, she squeezes his hand. “Yes, hurry back.”

Rainie open up to me, please. My heart aches when you are sad.

As he walks from the bedroom, buttoning his shirt, the scene before him slams into his heart.

Sitting on the floor in front of the fire, she holds her cup tightly in her hands while rocking slowly back and forth. The heat from the flames has kissed her face, causing a pinkish glow on her cheeks. Something is bothering her. Grabbing his cup off the table and settling beside her, he leans over and pushes his shoulder affectionately against hers.

Nuzzling his nose close to her ear, he whispers, “A penny for your thoughts.”

Smiling, she closes her eyes, takes a deep breath and shifts her body to face him. “Dylan, what I’m about to tell you may seem far-fetched, but please listen and keep an open mind. Others who have stayed here did not believe me.”

“I’ve been waiting for you to tell me why you got upset while we were out in the boat. Wait. Just how many others?”

“No one like you. Meaning, I haven’t been with anyone else. For years, I’ve tried to get someone to listen.”

“I’m all ears, Rainie.” Leaning back on his elbows and stretching out his legs, he gives her his undivided attention.

She sighs, her eyes begging for understanding.

Good Morning Steve and Brenda:) Bren, my family as I grew up always vacationed every year on a lake...and my husband and I continued that tradition (plus we are avid fishermen) of vacationing on lakes (and there are a ton of them in Michigan:)

Something about the water we speaks to the soul.

Your excerpt leaves us hanging...I have this book, just haven't had time to read it...but defintely want to:)

We stayed on Sam Rayburn while in Texas during one of our vacations...there's alligators in there! LOL

It's great having you both here...can you tell us what it's like working together? Maybe how you work together...are you sitting in the same room brainstorming and writing, or do you split the story up a little so each of you do a part of it separately?

Morning Kay Dee! I've got my hot Spiced Chai tea and I reckon you have your Earl Grey in hand. Still waking up here. LOL
Steve and I sit side by side and write together by connecting our computers through Teamviewer, a free and cool software; we've been writing this way since 2008 when I was in OR and Steve in TX.
We both write on the story although I add a lot of the fluff.
Both of us come up with ideas for the current story we're writing on or a new story; these notes are filed in a folder with a working title as its name.
I have to say out of our 5 published eBooks Rainie's Lake is my favorite and I can't wait to start Savannah's Dream in the Haunted B&B series and then write Rainie's Gift. I really like writing erotic paranormal.

We're getting some true fall weather - the trees are really poppin' with color and the sky is gray with rain...it's very cool and wet:)

Maybe it's actually time for a cocktail:)
